Bringing back the American Chestnut

The American Chestnut Foundation's Meadowview Research Farms are celebrating 25 years this year -- that's 25 years of trying to restore the tree that once blanketed most of the Appalachian mountains.

A photographer and I went out to tour the farm, and were fortunate enough to be there on a day volunteers were shucking chestnuts, as you can see in the video.

Here's the story. The celebration is Oct. 11.
